Dickinson Airport is pleased to announce that the expansion of the Commercial Terminal is officially complete. This expansion brings the terminal to just under 12,000 square feet. The terminal is designed to accommodate 50 passengers within the waiting area and 50 passengers in the sterile waiting area; compared to the old terminal which was designed for 24 passengers in the waiting area and 12 in the sterile waiting area. The security check point was updated and now has state of the art baggage screening equipment. Along with the expansion, the interior of the terminal has been remodeled. The new terminal features an expanded baggage claim area with a conveyor, so that passengers may more easily collect their belongings upon arrival; new waiting area seating; and new LCD displays throughout the terminal which will display flight information, news, and weather. The total cost of the update and expansion was approximately 1.3 million dollars. Funding came from the Federal Aviation Administration, North Dakota State Aeronautics’ Commission, and Stark County. |
